Het werk bestaat voor een groot deel uit teksten vertalen. Van het Nederlands (of Vlaams) naar het (Brits of Amerikaans) Engels of van het (Brits of Amerikaans) Engels naar het Nederlands.

Juridische vertalingen worden helaas in zeer beperkte mate uitgevoerd, omdat dit een hele aparte 'tak van sport' is.

The incoming assignments mainly consist of text to be translated; from Dutch (or Flemish) to (British or American) English or from (British or American) English to Dutch.
W10H Xtra will retain the format and layout you use, while meticulous localisation of figures, amounts and other relevant data is applied. Additionally, any mistakes in the original will be corrected in the translations.
Regularly translated documents
W10H Xtra receives diverse documents for translation. These could be:
Websites, instruction manuals for devices or (huge) industrial machines, staff manuals, job descriptions, product descriptions, transcriptions, marketing brochures, official documents and reports, instructions, trainings or exams, agreements, quotations, forms, contracts, (news)letters, newspaper articles, press releases, interviews, general terms, company procedures and policy/(re)organisation plans.
In addition, I frequently translate videos (documentaries, promotional videos, trainings, TV-programmes) for which I can also create (and even imbed) the subtitles.
Does your file pertain to a different subject? No worries! Also your document can be translated accurately and swiftly. W10H Xtra makes use of a large number of information sources, which Google translate is very rarely part of. In addition to translating correctly, W10H Xtra also sees to the retention of the layout of the document(s) you provide us with.
Unfortunately, legal translations are done to a very limited extent, as they require an entirely different field of expertise.

Waarom doet W10H Xtra geen machine vertalingen?
Nou, het wordt wel gedaan indien er specifiek om wordt verzocht.
Er kleven echter een aantal nadelen aan:
- machine vertalingen kennen geen nuance (woorden worden steeds hetzelfde vertaald, terwijl soms een synoniem beter past op een bepaalde plek).
- machine vertalingen zijn onnodig langzaam (bijv. in verband met de vele secties waarin de tekst wordt geplaatst).
- machine vertalingen vereisen "goedkeuring" van alle secties, wat voor zowel de vertaler als de corrector (proofreader) zeer hinderlijk kan zijn in geval van bijvoorbeeld een groot aantal (serie)nummers.
Why does W10H Xtra not do machine translations?
Well, it is done sometimes, after specific request.
It does involve a number of disadvantages though:
- machine translations are not able to specify nuances in text (a specific word will usually be translated the same, while sometimes a synonym would fit better).
- machine translations are unnecessarily slow (e.g. in connection with the numerous text sections).
- machine translations require "approval" for every single section, which can be a nuisance for translators as well as proofreaders, e.g. in case of large sets of (serial) numbers or the like.
